Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Macky Sall, Senegalese President and Chairperson of the African Union, are among 20 world government leaders expected to take part in the World Government Summit which will take place next week.

Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, has described the summit as the largest assembly of world governments with a vital purpose. At the World Government Summit, nations focus on collaborating towards a better future rather than fighting each other, he said.
We Are Celebrating A Decade Of Accomplishments,
During the World Government Summit, we heard world leaders discuss their experiences and the importance of fostering international alliances and partnerships, said Al Gergawi. In previous summit editions, he explained, governments were able to create policies and share experience and knowledge to prevent mistakes when implementing them.
As the public and private sectors complement one another with a shared responsibility for strategy creation, the summit facilitates partnerships. As well as being an opportunity for innovation, the summit is a platform for collaboration, said Al Gergawi. In 2014, the World Government Summit came up with the idea for a Museum of the Future. The participation of regional and international organisations and experts are witnessed in the event such as Professor Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum; Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the IMF; Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala GCON, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation; Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the WHO; Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Arab League Secretary-General; Mohammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, Chairman, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group; Jasem Al Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC).
The UN Secretary-General and the World Bank President will deliver speeches. Aside from the International Atomic Energy Agency, other participants include the International Labour Organization and the International Atomic Energy Agency. A total of more than 250 ministers will attend the event, along with nearly 10,000 government officials, businessmen, and world experts, some of whom are Nobel Prize winners. It will include more than 220 sessions with more than 300 speakers sharing their ideas for a better future.

And a new award will be presented to the world’s best minister. More than 22 international forums, along with one-off events such as the Future of Work Forum, the Future of Education Forum, the Experience Exchange Forum, and the Future by Design Global Forum, will also be held, Al Gergawi noted. In addition to high-level ministerial meetings, the summit will feature talks between Arab finance ministers and the IMF President, as well as talks between Arab youth ministers and the League of Arab States Secretary-General.
